Allyson Felix
Allyson Nicole Felix was born on the 18th of November, 1985, in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix was a natural athlete and developed a passion for sprinting at Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial time she tried out the sport, she finished second in 200m in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school and signed a professional deal with the sports company Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic prize at the 2004's Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s and set the new world junior record. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the youngest winner in the world in the distance of 200 meters. In 2007, she was able to defend the title against her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently at the top of the podium throughout her competitions in the Olympics held during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
